Spending $40K on a domain name you won’t even use

Ruslan Leteyski posted on X that his company spent $40,000 for ZipChat.com. His company runs on ZipChat.ai. AI agents for commerce is the business they are in.

The .com was registered in 1999 the .ai in 2023. Archive.org showed nothing on the .com, a screenshot from 2025 showed a redirect to http://soulsurgery.net/lander.

Congrats to Ruslan and his team.

– We're investing massively into brand awareness for @Zipchat ( YouTube, Social Media & so on )
– Majority of our search traffic ( Google ; App store ) comes from the keyword "zipchat" )
