Second time around for Boob.com and iWish.com – What a difference a letter makes

Second time around for Boob.com domain sold for $80,000 18 years ago, today only a quarter of that.

Boob.com sold today at Sedo for $22,008. This was actually a Sedo auction not a buy it now sale. This domain name sold back in 2007 at Moniker for $80,000. That’s quite the haircut. Boob vs Boobs is a big deal. One letter goes along way.

While both “boob” and “boobs” are slang terms for breasts, there are some differences in their usage and connotation.

Boobs (plural)

  • Generally more common and accepted: “Boobs” is the more prevalent term and is widely used in casual conversation and media. A survey found that nearly 70% of UK residents use the term “boobs,” compared to 46% for “tits”.
  • Slightly more socially acceptable: It’s considered less vulgar or offensive than “tits,” though still not as formal as “breasts.”
  • Used by both genders: Women may use the term among close friends to discuss how a dress fits, for example. Men might use it as well, although the context can impact its perception.

iWish.com also sold at Sedo today for $14,113. It sold in 2023 at NameJet for $16,020. I like iWish.com. “iWish” registered in 113 extensions according to DotDB.com.
