I have written many times about the craziness and delusion in domains wanted threads on Namepros. It’s not just Namepros, Rob Schutz a broker who is also a co-founder of Ro.co. Posted a request for a client of his Snagged.com.
You read the request and it’s crystal clear. Yet people offer .xyz, .vip, .co, .org. Made up words.
And I have mentioned this before that people don’t realize by doing this they are burning potential business relationships down the road. On Namepros there are member who block everyone with a delusional, “I am looking for one word .com, taken in 300 extensions, $250 MAX.” Or when someone posts a name that is not what was in the criteria.
Elliot Silver had a great reply in which he said, Many of the replies look like this to me, and it just has the X standard line, “This post is from an account you muted.”
There is no benefit to posting a .xyz when someone tells you they are looking for a .com. Then you have the mute vs the block, these people are talking to themselves if the thread poster mutes everyone who did not listen to his last post. Plus you have other prominent domainers muting you as well. It’s not smart.
Now the one thing I will say is you need to be more specific, I understood Rob wanted to cast a wide net but a few did comment that this is what you will get when you do that. For those that posted .coms sure.
