It was 5N.com day at GoDaddy auctions on Thursday. 185 expired auctions closed today. 78933.com was the highest close at $5,500. 13333.com was second at $4,200. I actually thought this would be the high close with the same repeating number for the last 4 numbers.
This once again shines a light on why it’s good to be GoDaddy. These are expired auctions where someone else, (not GoDaddy) registered these names, paid renewals and then allowed them to expire for GoDaddy to reap the rewards.
Now GoDaddy is a large company so these type of numbers are kind of inconsequential in the big picture. But just looking at 2022, 1,260 5N.com auctions closed at GoDaddy for $591.6k with the average price being $469.
There were just 180 5N.com domain sales that happened away from GoDaddy. 45688.com being the highest sale at DropCatch for $6,950.
